Auroral Corona over the Llyn Peninsula

Another shot from that most magical, memorable night on the 10th May 2024. The sky was FILLED with colour, visible to the naked eye, and simply EVERYWHERE. it was North, South, East and West. This is a shot taken directly overheard of the auroral corona. An auroral corona happens when solar activity is high- it is a very bright, structured and fast moving display of the northern lights.

This night was a very intense night for solar activity-and when you looked up you could see this corona, where pillars and bands seemed to meet in a crown like shape. Fun fact, corona is latin for crown, and it certainly was a crown of the night sky that night.
