Summer Milky Way on the Llyn Peninsula

In July 2024, I decided to take a chance on the bortle 2 skies of the Llyn Peninsula, and I was pleasantly surprised. 2024 was a year where I really tried to get out as much as I could for astrophotography, and I would usually leave the summer months as the skies just don’t get dark enough. This evening has certainly inspired me, and made me think more about summer astrophotography opportunities going forwards.

It was a lovely mild night looking out towards the ocean, and I took this two minute tracked exposure with my Samyang 35mm lens, with a three minute exposure for the foreground. It was a pleasant and mild evening, and I was so surprised by what I captured, despite it not being full dark. Summer isn’t a complete write off after all!
