Serene Coastal Scenes at Trefor Sea Stacks
Trefor Sea Stacks is a stunning location to visit on the Llyn Peninsula. It is a firm favourite of mine to visit during the day, and I have witnessed plenty of beautiful sunsets here. If you are lucky, you may even spot a seal or a dolphin, as I have done (but didn’t get a photo). I have always wanted to shoot some astro shots here, and was fortunate enough to get a mostly clear night at the end of August 2024.
The Milky Way didn’t quite line up where I wanted it to, and although I could have created a composite, I wanted this to be an accurate reflection. Clouds did start to roll in and it was fairly windy, being exposed and high above the sea, but I did manage to get a few three minute tracked shots with my Sigma 20mm art lens with a four and a half minute exposure of the sea stacks. There was a lot of green airglow too, which I love to capture.
For 2025, it maybe that I visit again but try a bit later in September.
